JAKE RYAN – GENERAL MANAGER OF TRADECRAFT CAPITAL

Jake Ryan brings over 20 years of professional experience in software technology to the world of cryptoasset investing. Jake is the founder / GP of Tradecraft Capital and handles all aspects of investment management for the firm. Prior to Tradecraft Capital, he was the founder / CEO of the Venice Consulting Group (VCG). VCG is a custom application development firm with clients that include: American Express, California Endowment, FOX Sports, Houlihan Lokey, Lexus and SAG-AFTRA. He is also a startup advisor to several venture-backed startups, an angel investor and an advisor at Mucker Capital. In addition, Jake writes long-form content where he breaks down ideas in crypto and investing. He is a top writer in investing, economics and cryptocurrency on Medium.

Jake Ryan earned a BS in computer science from The University of Texas at Austin.  He is a 1st author of scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence and network security. Mr. Ryan was the keynote speaker at two of the top AI conferences and has published his work, “Intrusion Detection with Neural Networks”, which now has over 600 Google Scholar Citations

MARSHALL ROCKWELL - INVESTOR RELATIONS

Marshall Rockwell is an entrepreneur, business consultant, and inventor. He founded and ran SoftAware Networks, one of the first commercial internet service providers, and later sold it for $450M. Mr. Rockwell has an active business consulting practice and has advised companies in the solar farm, battery storage and entertainment spaces. Mr. Rockwell also manages a real estate investment portfolio, which includes operating rental properties in California. Mr. Rockwell served several terms on the Board of Wildwood School, and has been an active contributor to the Burning Man Project for more than 15 years. A lifelong inventor, Mr. Rockwell holds several U.S. and foreign patents, including a hand-held scanner technology that was purchased and commercially produced by Logitech.

EDUARDO MADRID - TECHNICAL LEAD

Eduardo is a specialist and expert in high-frequency trading. He’s built ultra-high performing trading systems for equities and commodities trading for some top investment firms. Prior to Tradecraft Capital, Eduardo has worked at Bloomberg, Magnetar Capital and Crabel Capital. He earned a degree in computer science from Universidad Simón Bolívar.

ANASTASIA VEDROVA - BACK OFFICE MANAGER AND ADMINISTRATION

Anastasia Vedrova is responsible for executive administration to Tradecraft Capital’s general partner. She provides office administration, and other administrative functions to ensure that the daily and monthly tasks involved in running a successful hedge fund are executed to absolute accuracy and perfection. She earned a degree in international business from Tomsk State University in Russia.

NELS PAINE – MANAGING DIRECTOR OF PAINE PACIFIC & ADVISOR TO TRADECRAFT CAPITAL

Mr. Paine founded Paine Pacific in 1998 to apply his personal experience in operations, management, fundraising, and M&A transactions to the underserved emerging growth and middle market companies. 

Mr. Paine has a strong family background in investment banking and venture capital. Growing up around the venture capital business (his father was one of the first venture capitalists to break ground on Sand Hill Road in Northern California in 1962) laid the groundwork for his interest and subsequent career in small to mid-size businesses. He has proven success in building, managing and achieving product, marketing and financial goals of small businesses, start ups, and turnarounds with twelve years experience in the technology and high technology industries for medical and computer products. Paine Pacific has engaged more than 325 clients in over 75 industries since its founding in 1998. He graduated from SMU in 1988 and is an avid outdoorsman and cyclist living in Portland, Oregon with his wife and six children.

ROBERT CONE –  FORMER SVP OF NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK & ADVISOR TO TRADECRAFT CAPITAL

Mr. Cone brings to Tradecraft Capital a 30-year career in the international capital markets as a trader, salesperson, and manager of risk products and people. His trading experience includes US Treasuries, FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Money Markets. He has managed trading rooms for some of the biggest international banks in the world. He's worked directly with regulators (OCC, NY State Banking, Federal Reserve, FINRA, SEC). In addition, he has managed consulting projects in broker dealer startups, regulatory risk reviews, anti-money laundering investigations and remediation, and anti-corruption compliance.  He graduated from SMU in 1980 and is lives with his wife in Palm Desert, CA.

JAMES DIORIO - FOUNDER OF PORPHYRY, LLC AND ADVISOR TO TRADECRAFT CAPITAL

James Diorio is an executive and serial entrepreneur with a history of building successful ventures. He most recently founded Porphyry, LLC, a consultancy focused on bringing entrepreneurial success to businesses of all types, particularly those in the burgeoning world of blockchain technology where he is also an active advisor. Prior to Porphyry, LLC, James was CEO at Dial800, assuming this role after his tenure as COO. In these roles James successfully grew the company organically while simultaneously spawning two industry-disruptive subsidiaries, leading to seven consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America and culminating with the successful acquisition of Dial800 by a national telecom.

James began his career at Andersen Consulting and quickly moved into the entrepreneurial space, becoming an expert in startup, growth, exits and turnaround efforts. His results are achieved via strong leadership, technology, operations and business strategy implementation, combined with an understanding that success is also a function of culture and passionate, empowered teams. James holds a B.S., Computer science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
